Albert Coryer, the grandson of a voyageur-turned-farmer had a gift for storytelling. Born in 1877, Albert grew up in Prairie du Chien hearing tales of bygone days from his grandparents, parents and neighbors who lived in Frenchtown. Albert soaked up the local oral traditions and narratives about the French-Canadian residents. Here are a few of Albert's stories.
